September 10th
Words of Inspiration: A young woman told a great parable in church today. (I don't remember all of it, but this is the gist of it.)
It was about a prince who had to be tested to see if he was wise enough to become King. If he passed the test, he would become king, if not, death would be his fate. The young prince was given 5 weights, each representing different aspects of life. He was told to place the most important one on the center column, and then place the other four, one at at time, on the balances, without unbalancing it. The wise young prince thought, and then took the tray with the weights on it and place the whole thing on the center column.
Sometimes we know what is most important in our lives, but then throw our lives out of whack trying to figuring out the rest. We need to prioritize all the important things in our lives. And the rest will fall into place.
Song of the Day: Carol of the Bells. It has to be one of my favorite Christmas Carols. We are working on it for our church Christmas Festival. Tonight was our first choir rehearsal. (Yesterday we rehearsed the orchestra.) It was fun to sing it. But weird to be singing Christmas music in September!
Guilty Pleasure of the day: ICE CREAM! It's not really a guilty pleasure. But I have been trying to cut back. It was easy after getting back from Italy. I loved Gelato, and American Ice Cream just doesn't come close. So it wasn't much of a temptation. But tonight I succumbed. I was a wuss. ;-)
