Jumping on the blogger wagon

Okay, I'm finally up with the times and have a real blogspot to call my own. Don't know how much I'll post on here, but this is the place to find my random thoughts spewed on the page (thus the word sneeze title). It's the day after my birthday and I'm feeling retrospective... you know that feeling of "I'm this old and what have I done with my life???"

So, I started thinking of all the things I've accomplished. (and lifted an idea from beccababes)

  • I've been to almost all of the United States, lacking only North Dakota, Wisconsin, Maine, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii.
  • I've traveled to Canada, Mexico, Belize, Germany, Holland, Belgium, England and Scotland.
  • I've been to the top of the World Trade Center, and the Empire State Building, The Pyramid of the Sun and Chichen-Itza pyramid in Mexico, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and the Statue of Liberty.
  • I’ve been in Mammoth Caves and the underground tombs of Guanajuato.
  • I’ve explored castles on the Rhine in Germany and castles of my ancestors in Scotland.
  • I’ve been to the cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde and seen Old Faithful go off in Yellowstone.
  • I’ve shopped on Portobello Road, Rodeo Drive, at FAO Schwartz and at Harrods.
  • I’ve bought a Harry Potter book the minute it came on sale, saw one of the HP movies the opening day and I’ve been to platform 9¾ in King’s Cross Station.
  • I've been on the subway in New York City, and the tube in London.
  • I've traveled by bus, boat, ferry, train, taxi, double decker bus, jet and Cessna airplane.
  • I've seen mummies, a Gutenberg Bible, and the Rosetta stone in London,
  • I’ve visited Kitty Hawk, Mt. Rushmore and the White House.
  • I’ve played badminton, racquetball and tennis.
  • I’ve marched in many a parade and seen the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade live.
  • I’ve been on a private tour of the NBC studios in NYC.
  • I’ve split logs with a sledgehammer and wedge and re-shingled a roof.
  • I’ve discovered two! siblings I didn’t know I had.
  • I’ve danced in a ballet (the Nutcracker) and been in a TV commercial.
  • I’ve experienced an earthquake and seen a bank robbery.
  • I’ve been a backstage hand, sound techie, costume designer and make-up artist for community theater.
  • I’ve played the steel drums, a drum set, a washboard, the harmonica, washtub bass, the guitar, piano, oboe, harpsichord, dulcimer, psaltery and hammer dulcimer.
  • I’ve performed for an audience “Flight of a Bumblebee” on flute and “Stars and Stripes Forever” on piccolo.
  • I’ve attended concerts and master classes by the master flutists James Galway and Jean Pierre Rampal.
  • I can make real pie crust from scratch and toss a pizza crust in the air.
  • I can drive a five speed, fix a flat and jumpstart a car.
  • I’ve thrown a football, a baseball, a boomerang and a Frisbee.
  • I’ve been to Disneyland and Disney World, rode the Scream Machine at Six Flags with my hands up the whole time, and rode the tallest (at the time) rollercoaster in America at Cedar Point.
  • I’ve picked and eaten wild asparagus and wild blackberries.
  • I’ve seen a musical on Broadway (Les Miserables) and Shakespeare in London.
  • I’ve read the Iliad, Pride and Prejudice, Tale of Two Cities and all four standard works of Scripture.
  • I’ve touched the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, and seen the Declaration of Independence in Washington, and the Magna Carta in London.
  • I’ve seen the wild ponies at Chincoteague Island, and fed alligators marshmallows at Lake Alice in Florida.
  • I’ve touched a whale, a dolphin, a giraffe and a moon rock.
  • I’ve eaten raw oysters on the half shell in Florida, steamed crabs in Maryland and fish-n-chips in England.
  • I’ve reupholstered a couch, flattened a penny on a railroad track and built a house of cards.
  • I’ve seen the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform live, and seen the lights of Times Square.
  • I've balanced on a balance beam, done a routine on the uneven bars, been whitewater rafting and canoeing, been horseback riding, run hurdles, pole vaulted, roller skated, ice skated, water skied, snow skied, even swung on a circus trapeze. (With the greatest of ease!)

And I’m sure I’ve left something out. But boy, I feel better today than I did yesterday!
