98 Percent

My first college exam in 25 years...

Hours spent studying: 6
Vocab flash cards made: 60
Dove dark chocolate candies eaten while studying: 8 (okay, maybe more than that.)
Practice essays written: 2

Time spent taking test: 80 minutes

Getting the top grade in the class....
Priceless!

Quote of the day: "Thank you for your exam." Dr. James, told to me before he handed the graded test back to us. On my test it said "BRAVO!"

OOOoooooooo.... klahoma!

Where the winds come sweeping down the plain!

That's where I've been for the past week. In fact when I was leaving church early somebody asked where I was going, and I answered "to Oklahoma!" Meaning of course, "Oklahoma!" the musical, but they thought Oklahoma, the state.

I love working with these high school kids on their plays and musicals. They are so talented and have so much energy and love to share. I feel appreciated for what I do. What do I do, you ask? I do make-up. This time I did makeup on Curly, Aunt Eller, Andrew Carnes, and sometimes Will Parker. I also helped apply mustaches. They hate the spirit gum, and the remover even worse. Thankfully they don't hate me, even though I torture them.

Now it's back to normal life... or as normal as life can be while I'm taking classes and teaching and all that.

It's a good feeling to be busy, to be appreciated and to feel useful.

Cutest Granddaughter EVAH

I saw this on my daughter's blog and had to steal it and
crop it to show off my granddaughter's cute face. Like her shirt says... she is a *cutie*!!!

Surf and Turf

I think finally, after all these years, I am turning into a pretty good cook.

Tonight, I finally perfected the art of cooking a steak. Perfection. My hubbie said it was even better than Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and that is saying alot! They key is buying a good steak to begin with. I spent 21 dollars on 4 steaks, but boy, yum-o.

We also had a delicious salad that I made up. I took roma tomatos, chunky sliced and quartered, poured balsamic vinegar (that I bought in Modena, Italy) and EVOO (that I bought at Walmart!) over it, sprinkled some herbes de provence (that I bought in Provence) and then added Feta cheese and cooked peeled and deveined shrimp. Mixed it all together added some freshly ground pepper and served over a bed of mixed greens. I have learned that quality ingredients make for quality food.

This was a great meal and did not involve waiting for 1 1/2 hours to get a seat at a good restaurant on this busy Valentine's evening.

For dessert, a giant heart shaped homemade chocolate chip cookie.

And the Dove Dark Chocolate candies I found on my computer this morning. What a nice Valentine's Day!

Comments

I was excited to find so many comments posted to my blog, only to be dissappointed that they are ALL spam. I've never had trouble before. So now, I'll have to change my comment posting to add that irritating, yet effective, word verification thing.

And by the way, today I took my first examination in 25 years. I think I did okay! There's something to be said for studying!

I Know...

I know, I know. I need to update. I'm just a little overwhelmed right now.
